In front of a crowd at the Club Tigre Junior facilities, Julio Zamora launched his candidacy as mayor of Tigre for the Unión por la Patria Front and presented the list of councilors and school counselors to compete in the PASO 2023 elections, to be held on the 13th of August.

“Knowing that there are neighbors, representatives of institutions, social organizations, trade unions and supporters who believe in our political project for Tigre gives me great joy. I want to look forward and make it a fair game where we debate ideas without Chicanas; I want the Unión por la Patria Front to be able to impose itself through the popular vote to elect its president, its governor and renew trust with the community through my candidacy,” the candidate for mayor began.

And he continued: “Every day when I wake up I look at the future with hope. That is why our campaign is going to be linked to what we did but with great emphasis on what we want for Tigre. It is an honor to take on this responsibility once more and that the people can define the course they want to take. If that decision means that they turn the page of history and tell me ‘Julio, thank you for what you’ve done’ it will be an honor. And if I win, it will also be gratifying because it will mean ratifying the work we did over the years.”

Asked regarding the list of councilors presented for the PASO elections, he said: “It is made up of people proven in management. Municipal delegates, officials and people who have shown themselves to live up to what citizens require. The residents of Tigre always set the bar high for us and it is good that it be so; we give everything to reach that rod, which is always unattainable because there is so much to do. We will continue working on that with conviction, responsibility and humility”.

In his words, Zamora also emphasized the most significant works carried out throughout his administration, such as the Maternal and Child Hospital and its enhancement; the three HDIs of Don Torcuato, Tigre centro and Benavídez; the “Ñato Errecart” Sports Center in Benavídez; the Pepe Soriano Municipal Theater; the 85 revalued public spaces; security strengthening; Av. Juan B. Justo (ex 197); and Route 197 between the El Talar and General Pacheco bridges together with the national government, among others. He also referred to works to present in the future such as the two theaters in Don Torcuato and El Talar; the athletics track, the two micro-stadiums of Benavídez and Don Torcuato and the highly complex hospital.

Finally, the pre-candidate closed: “I believe that adversities made us stronger, they hardened us, they made us better people. That is all I have to give Tigre, my experience, my wealth of knowledge and my values at the service of the community. We must celebrate democracy, we must have a positive attitude, show our neighbors that we are not people who fight like a cockfight, but that we believe in politics as a transformative tool”.

Before going on stage to start his speech, Zamora interacted with the residents present from the different points of Tigre, who expressed their support for his management. Subsequently, a video dedicated to the work carried out in his 10 years as head of the Municipality of Tigre was projected, where works were exhibited in the areas of safety, health, education, among others. Then, the pre-candidate offered a few words to the thousands of militants present, recalling at the beginning the memory of the former president of the Honorable Deliberative Council, Alejandra Nardi; the former president of the school board Raúl Mansilla; and former councilor Alfredo Di Mateo.

“First of all, I feel great joy because we are going to have the possibility that our people can choose the destinations of Tigre. From this political space we are offering the best man, humble and hardworking who walks and walks the neighborhoods of the district like Julio Zamora. We have a list of councilors that is a source of pride, neighbors with conviction and vocation who have been forged in adversity and are willing to give everything,” said the pre-candidate for the first councilor for Unión por la Patria, Gisela Zamora.

And he concluded: “In these years the district had many transformations with the Maternal and Child Hospital, which is a reference in the region with technology and a great human body; more than 80 public spaces, which are no longer dark so that citizens can take them as meeting places; the Pepe Soriano theater; strengthening security, among other things. This is undoubtedly the list of work, of progress and no one is going to take away our desire to continue advancing through the community. This is respectful management above all things that is convinced of what it does; our north is the dream of every person who lives in Tigre”.
