The Cordovan right-back Julio Buffarini agreed today to join Independentat the request of coach Carlos Tevez, of whom he was a teammate during his time at Boca Juniors.

The 35-year-old defender from Córdoba will sign an 18-month contract with the “red” with a termination clause at the end of the year.

The arrival of “Buffa” as a reinforcement is a request from Tevez, who knows him from when they both shared a squad in Boca between 2018 and 2021.

Buffarini said goodbye last Saturday to workshops, where he emerged as a professional, following playing just two games in the last one of the Professional League.

The former San Lorenzo will be the sixth addition to the “King of Cups” for the last semester of 2023 and joins the returns of Lucas “Saltita” González and Federico Mancuello, plus the arrivals of Alexis Canelo, the Colombian Felipe Aguilar and the Chilean Mauritius Island.

The transfer market will end tomorrow and Independiente will try to close it with the hiring of the talented Arsenal midfielder Santiago Toloza.

The player belongs to Talleres de Córdoba but the Sarandí club would execute the purchase option set at 500,000 dollars and then sell it to the “red” for regarding 1,200,000 of the same currency.

At the same time, the possibility of the return of Domingo Blanco, who a year ago left for Dnipro, Ukraine, remains latent.
