This two-day live and online auction will feature over 800 iconic items from music history.

Highlighting the auction

  • Mary Kaye’s 1956 Fender Stratocaster guitar: This Stratocaster, serial number 09391, in a transparent blonde finish and gold hardware, is the exact guitar that Mary Kaye was holding in the iconic 1956 Fender advertising photo. Known as “The Mary Kaye,” she appeared in the film Cha-Cha-Cha Boom! before becoming part of a storied journey through the hands of famous musicians such as Aerosmith’s Jimmy Crespo and The Who’s John Entwistle. Estimated at $200,000 to $400,000.
  • Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s 1939 Gibson L-5 Guitars: This archtop guitar, serial number EA-5024, was built for Sister Rosetta Tharpe and owned by the “Godmother of Rock n’ Roll” until 1952. It is a masterpiece of craftsmanship with a Sitka spruce top, back and sides made of birdseye maple and a flame maple neck, Tharpe’s name is engraved on the truss rod cover, and she is featured in iconic photos from her early career. Estimated at $40,000 to $60,000.
