New year, new schedule. Julie Hammett, who co-presented “20H Ruquier”, new – and now old – program by Laurent Ruquier on BFMTV since September, took place in a new time slot this Tuesday January 2, 2024: that of 10 p.m. to midnight. The journalist, who now presents “Julie until midnight”, therefore replaces Maxime Switek, who left to take Bruce Toussaint’s place in the 9-12 slot. The latter will indeed present “Bonjour!”, the morning news from TF1. A game of musical chairs reinforced by the sudden departure of Laurent Ruquier from the news channel, after only three months on the air.

Right away, I sent him a little message to tell him that it was a pleasure to work with him during this first trimester and that I hoped the decision hadn’t been too difficult to make.“, she adds. Arriving on September 25 on channel 15 after more than twenty years at France Télévisions, Laurent Ruquier abruptly announced his departure on December 26, due to lack of audience. “I could hide behind the international situation and the dramatic news which certainly did not make my task easier when I arrived, but it is clear that the public did not follow me as much as we hoped in this different role In my opinion“, he wrote on X (Twitter).

It’s a box with a lot of competition so it’s complicated. We would have liked the audiences to be better but we did our job until the end. Observing Laurent Ruquier was a real enrichment. It was a very rich first trimester for me.“
