The American actress will chair the jury at the Venice Film Festival in September.
She often walked the steps of Cannes. Moreover, in 2014, the High Mass of Cinema awarded her the Best Actress Award for “Maps to the Stars”. In order to best support her in this task, she will be accompanied by French director Audrey Diwan (winner of the Golden Lion last year for “The Event”), Iranian actress Leila Hatami (“A separation “) or the Spanish director Rodrigo Sorogoyen (“As bestas”).
Appeared in blockbusters – “Jurassic Park”, “Hunger Games”, “Kingsman”… – and in everything that makes international auteur cinema – “Still Alice”, “Savage Grace”, “The Hours”… –, she remains the only American actress to have received an interpretation award at the three biggest film festivals in the world: in Cannes, therefore, but also in Berlin for “The Hours” in 2003 and in Venice, in 2002, for “Loin heaven”.
