Julián Araujo joins Barça Atlètic – FC Barcelona

The FC Barcelona has entered into an agreement with LA Galaxy for the transfer of right-back Julián Araujo for the next three and a half seasons, until June 30, 2026. On February 17, 2023, his transfer from the Los Angeles Galaxy to FC Barcelona was officially announced, following Barça failed to recruit d’Araujo on January 31 for 18 seconds.

Winner of the CONCACAF U-20 championship in 2018 with the United States team, Julián Araujo will initially join the reserve team (Barça Atlètic) under the orders of Rafael Marquezbefore perhaps joining the first team in the future.

Born in Lompoc, California in 2001, Julián Araujo is a footballer who has dual North American and Mexican nationality, as he is the son of Mexican parents. Although he made his mark in the United States youth teams (U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-23), Araujo now plays for the senior Mexico national team (3 caps). Before coming to LA Galaxy, the club from which he hails, Araujo developed as a youngster at the Barça Academy in Arizona (Barça Residency Academy), as well as with the Central Coast Condors and Santa Barbara Soccer Club.
