Young militants from Franja Morada celebrated the already safe launch of the Medicine degree in Libertador General San Martín, highlighting the commitment and decision of Governor Gerardo Morales not to wait for national funds to advance with this important academic initiative.
“It is a great milestone for all of Jujuy and a great commitment on the part of the provincial government and the National University of Tucumán, in the agreement that was also signed recently with the University of Jujuy and that will offer the possibility to thousands of Jujuy residents and Jujuy women to be able to study a career that is in great demand, but for which, for now, you have to go to another province to do it, with all that that implies. And that obviously is not something that everyone can access. So this to be able to have from next year the possibility of studying Medicine here in the province, in Libertador General San Martín, is undoubtedly a great milestone for the entire population of Jujuy”, stressed Franco Dorado, from Franja Morada de Jujuy.
“This, without the support of the Government of the Province, would probably take many more years and many young people would not have the possibility of studying this career, or their families would have to pay enormous sums to be able to pay for their studies at other national universities, such as Córdoba, Tucumán, Buenos Aires, La Rioja, where they normally go to continue medicine,” he added.
