The Union of Judges and Prosecutors (EDE) warns that it will stand once morest any thought-attempt to abolish the composition of the Sports Justice, by regular judicial officers, such as committees and disciplinary bodies in general, as this would be a discount to the institutions and a regression.
In particular, the EDE states in its announcement:
“The establishment of the Sports Judiciary by Regular Judicial Officers with guarantees of full personal and operational Independence, according to the Constitution, which took place with Law 4326/2015 (article 5), as amended and in force, was one of the most important reforms in place of the Hellenic Football. During the years of operation of the Institution, Sports Justice has been awarded with objectivity and impartiality, having contributed to the sanitization of Sport in terms of equality before the Laws.
This fact combined with new innovations in recent years, such as the VAR control system, which is now globally recognized having judged, in their most exhaustive detail, crucial football matches of all the leading European and world competitions, even major finals (champions league etc.), have contributed to the purity and transparency of the most popular sport. This objectivity might bother football players today.
