Judge leaves class action firm against Gilinski files at Sura meeting

The Civil Court 10 of the Orality Circuit of Medellín ratified its decision to admit the class action filed last month once morest three members of the board of directors of Grupo Sura, who acted on behalf of Jaime Gilinski.

Grupo Sura, in relevant information reported to the Financial Superintendence, indicated that it was notified this Monday regarding the decision adopted by the court in the popular action process promoted by Diego Patiño Moreno once morest María Ximena Lombana, Ángela María Tafur Domínguez and Andrés Bernal Correa, regarding the appeal for reversal filed by the defendants once morest the order admitting the claim and the order that decreed the precautionary measures.

“In the judicial providence andThe judge denied the defendants’ requests and ratified his decision to admit the lawsuit and decree the precautionary measures that ordered Grupo Sura and other entities to refrain from processing or managing any act or decision that does not comply with the applicable legal and statutory regulations, in terms of decisions of the company’s board of directors”, reads the communication.

Likewise, it was noted that as a consequence of this decision, the court will forward the case file to the Superior Court of Medellín in order to complete the procedure corresponding to the appeal once morest the order that decreed the precautionary measures.

It was clarified that the precautionary measures remain firm until the decision of the appeal is known, which was granted with devolutionary effects.

It is worth noting that María Ximena Lombana and Ángela María Tafur Domínguez continue to belong to the board of directors of Grupo Surawho were re-elected at the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting held on November 22, following being nominated by the Gilinski Group.

For his part, Andrés Bernal was not nominated and is currently not part of the board of Sura.
