The President of the Republic shook the judiciary yesterday at the end of the meeting of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (Cms). He has made several appointments in several jurisdictions. One of the landmark decisions was the change of post of Judge Hamath Sy.
Until then at the head of the third correctional chamber of Dakar, he was appointed president of the high court of Pikine / Guédiawaye. A few weeks ago, following the sending of the Sweet Beauty case to the Correctional Chamber, he was named in the press as the one who was to judge Ousmane Sonko, accused of rape and death threats by Adji Sarr.

Information denied without convincing some since his family would have received threats according to Les Echos, but finally, his appointment as president of the high court of Pikine / Guédiawaye definitively settled the debate. He will therefore not be the judge in the Sonko – Adji Sarr case.
