CAMPECHE (El Universal).— A federal judge granted protection to the Campeche police officers once morest any abuse, and in the face of threats from Governor Layda Elena Sansores, who warned them that they might be fired and even imprisoned if they continued with the strike.
The PRI deputy, Ricardo Medina, and the federal deputy for Morena, José Flores, informed the police officers in a meeting held at the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, that they are protected and that the federal judge will be pending the case.
They confirmed the march on April 13 in which they will reiterate their request for the replacement of Marcela Muñoz Martínez as head of that corporation.
One of the police officers in this mobilization, José Grajales, asked his colleagues not to give in to the injustices and closure of which they are victims on the part of the government.
Legitimate movement
Likewise, the federal deputy of Morena, José Flores, who supports the police, expressed that “they have a legitimate movement, they are fighting for their rights.”
Legislator Medina recalled that nothing would have happened if it were not for an ineffective operation in the Kobén prison where the police officers were beaten by the inmates and some female police officers were raped because they were sent without protection and the operation was a disaster, he said. .
Likewise, the legislator criticized that Morena has presented an initiative in the State Congress to place “locks” for future candidacies.
“It is because they know that, in two years and months, the people of Campeche are disappointed,” he said.
