Juan Pablo Verdier talks about the leak of his intimate photos with Karen Bejarano: “I wanted to kill myself” | TV and Show

The former Mekano revealed details of the complex episode that he lived with his partner, Karen Paola, following a cyber criminal hacked their accounts and threatened to publish the intimate photos of both. The communicator confessed the problems related to his mental health that caused that moment in his life.

A new episode of The Divine Foodwhich had as guests the actors Julio Milostich, Úrsula Achterberg, Solange Lackington and the ex-boy Mekano, John Peter Verdierwho spoke regarding the leaking of his intimate photos with his wife, Karen Bejarano.

It was precisely at the meal he offered at his house that the former reality boy spoke openly regarding the problems related to his mental health as a result of the extortion and dissemination of their photographs.

“I lived through an experience that was the worst thing that happened to me in my life”expressed Verdier before beginning his story. “It was a month of threats and pressure from a criminal writing on WhatsApp”he claimed.

It should be remembered that in 2017, the couple was the victim of a hacking of their Internet accounts, where a subject had access to Karen Paola’s personal files. To date, the culprit has not been convicted by justice.

“I went to the PDI and the general discourse was that as the digital law in Chile is so precarious nothing can be doneeven if it is a death threat (…) at that time it might not be considered as something relevant, we might not do anything, “he recalled.

Mental health related problems

The former Mekano told his guests that he was willing to pay the huge sums of money that the criminal asked for in exchange for not publishing the images that Karen Bejarano had on her personal phone.

He even revealed some confrontations he had with people who, he thought, might be behind the ordeal he suffered in those years. “That caused me a disease called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder”he confessed.

According to the prestigious Mayo Clinicthis disorder corresponds to “a mental health illness triggered by a frightening situation, whether you experienced it or witnessed it. Symptoms can include flashbacks, nightmares, and severe distress, as well as uncontrollable thoughts regarding the situation.”

I died first, I cried, I vomited blood, I crawled on the floor, I wanted to kill myself.I looked for a place to get a weapon to kill that person and then I decided not to do it and build a different life once more, “said the Uruguayan.

According to the audiovisual communicator, with the support of his family and mental health professionals, he was able to get ahead and resume the activities that he had put aside as a result of the chaotic situation he faced with his partner.

He assured that he read guides on the functioning of the brain and began to practice what might make him feel happy. “Only psychology and mental health helped me choose that path”he declared.

“This is the first time that I can speak publicly and not get emotional like before”he stated in the program broadcast by Chilevisión.
