The man with seven victories and thirty podiums in Formula 1, who is spending these days in the country, had to live an uncomfortable moment after a driver crashed him.

The pilot’s family confirmed to EL TIEMPO that unfortunately a driver of a white van, a special transport, crashed into Montoya when he was traveling with his wife, along Carrera 10 and Calle 82, this Thursday, December 21.

In the images of what happened, it can be seen that the bumper and other implements from the front area of the truck that hit Montoya’s vehicle fell off.
Fortunately, neither Montoya nor his wife, Connie Freydell, were injured in the incident that occurred near the Andino Shopping Center and the Liceo de Cervantes El Retiro school.
“He hit us, but it was nothing serious,” they commented, emphasizing that it was just a matter of cans.
Montoya’s plans in Colombia
In recent months, Juan Pablo Montoya has dedicated most of his time to working for the career of Sebastián, his son, and the training of other promising Colombian motorsports.
This 2023, the legendary driver decided to take one step further in his goal and made official the creation of his own team: Team Montoya.

“The idea is that people know them, private companies bet on them and Colombian sport can grow in the best circuits in the world,” Montoya told EL TIEMPO.

Juan Pablo and Sebastián Montoya continue competing together
Since mid-2022, when Sebastián and Juan Pablo Montoya chose to race together at Sebring, they have continued to compete on different tracks.
