The Venezuelan opponent Juan Guaidó assured this Saturday, during a municipal meeting in Vargas statethat the government of Nicolás Maduro, whom he called a “dictatorship”, has an expiration date.

“Do not give up because the dictatorship has an expiration date. I give the country and the entire world the absolute certainty that we will do what we know how to do well for this electoral cycle because not only are the presidential ones, but also the parliamentary ones owe us. 2022 is a year of demand, of struggle », said the former parliamentarian, according to a press release released by his team.

This meeting was part of the call announced days ago by Juan Guaidó and which is part of the Save Venezuela movement that he now heads.

On the day, he asked citizens for “unity and incorporation” of all sectors in the demand for a date for presidential elections in Venezuela “as soon as possible.” He assured that the country “cannot wait any longer,” according to the press release.

“Venezuelans have the right to choose. The dictatorship cannot choose for the democratic alternative. It is we who choose the future of this country. We cannot allow it to remain an idea, a dream, a nostalgia. It has to be a fact, it is a fight, a just cause », he pointed out.

Juan Guaidó urged the population to stay in the streets

In this sense, he insisted on the need to “go out into the streets” to summon citizens and “demand conditions” for “free and fair elections.”

The opponent reported that this Saturday 57 “municipal meetings” were held throughout the country “to organize and incorporate all sectors into the fight.” And he announced that “zonal meetings” will be held in March, of which he did not offer details.
