Juan Diego Alvira, the most popular television presenter in Colombia, arrives at SEMANA

Renowned journalist Juan Diego Alvira arrives at WEEK and will be part of our journalistic team. Alvira, considered the television presenter closest to the people in Colombia, will direct the video unit of this media outlet and will develop new content in digital formats.

Alvira has twice been awarded the India Catalina award for best newscaster. Likewise, he has received recognition from the Circle of Journalists of Bogotá (CPB) and Fasecolda, thanks to his work and long career.

In 2019, between January and August, the SEMANA Group’s digital revenues were 3,908 million pesos. During 2020, in the same period, they increased 99% and were 7,765 million pesos.

In 2021, in the same period, the increase was 78% and digital revenues reached 13,792 million pesos. So far in 2022, growth has been 55% and they reach 21,350 million pesos, at the end of August. The forecast is to close 2022 with 33,500 million pesos of digital income.

This gives us the ability to continue reinvesting in retaining and attracting talent, technology and new formats in order to inform Colombians in an efficient, responsible and innovative manner.
