JSW maintains its plan to produce 12.45 million tons of coal in 2024, and plans to increase it in 2025.

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW) maintains its operational plans, assuming coal production at the level of 12.45 million tonnes this year, and also assumes that production will significantly increase in 2025, said Jarosław Kluczniok, deputy president of the management board for development.

“The Management Board maintains the operational assumptions assuming production of 12.45 million tonnes in 2024, assuming no extraordinary events,” Kluczniok said during a teleconference.

He also announced that the planned production in 2025 will be “definitely higher” than 12-13 million tons.

In the first half of the year, coal production in the JSW Group amounted to 6 million tonnes. The original production plan for this year, assumed in the strategy for 2023-2030, envisaged production of 15.3 million tonnes.

“The group’s situation is very difficult, so returning to 14-15 million tonnes of annual production is not sufficient,” added Ryszard Janta, president.

According to him, the company is at the stage of developing a financial plan for 2025, but is optimizing current expenses taking into account the market situation.

The JSW Group is the largest producer of high-quality type 35 (hard) coking coal and a significant producer of coke in the European Union. The company has been listed on the WSE since 2011.
