TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, which will be “the largest urban development in the history of JR East,” will consist of 4 blocks of complex building I (North and South), 3 blocks of complex building II, 2 blocks of cultural creation building, and 1 block of residential building. be. In March 2025, complex building I, the area around Takanawa Gateway Station, will open, and MICE facilities, offices, commercial facilities, a plaza around the station, and a pedestrian deck will be developed. Other areas are scheduled to open in 2025.

Various parks were born under the concept of “53 Playable Park” in an open space of about 4ha, which is one of the largest in Tokyo. The Takanawa embankment, which was built 150 years ago and has been designated as a national historic site, will be preserved locally, and the memory of Japan’s first railway running as a place of innovation will be passed on to the next 100 years.

Co-creation partner KDDI will move its headquarters from the current Iidabashi to Takanawa Gateway in the spring of 2025. We will build a “City OS” that will serve as a data platform for collecting and analyzing data related to city facilities and people, such as reflecting the behavioral data of 12,000 employees in urban planning.
KDDI’s head office will be the complex building I North of “TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY”, and many of the telecommunications and financial group companies will also be consolidated.
