Stefanos Korkolis, Sofia Manousaki, the historic Corfu philharmonic group “OMONIA”, 100 children from the music high school of Patras, the Amabile mixed choir of Patras with 75 choristers, “get together” and at 9.30 in the evening on Thursday 4 July they “travel through the Municipal Summer Theater “To the 5 Winds”.
Stefanos Korkolis, one of the most important pianists, composers and performers, and Sofia Manousaki, who is characterized as one of the leading voices of the new generation, are coming together and are expected to leave their own special musical imprint, which will remain etched in everyone’s mind.
With them, the Historical Philharmonic of Corfu which, completing 126 years since its foundation, with honorary conductor Stefanos Korkolis, celebrates and honors the 30 years of operation of music schools throughout Greece.
The concert is attended by dozens of children from the music high school of Patras who have been prepared for it by their teacher Aretousa Nikolopoulou with Stefanos Korkolis accompanying them on the piano and together with the philharmonic they celebrate the 30th anniversary of the creation of the music school of Patras.
The mixed choir Amabile of Patras, prepared by Tasos Karagiannis, participates.
The Corfu philharmonic “Omonoia” is the only philharmonic that has performed in America at the Town Hall theater on Broadway, it has collaborated with almost all the great performers who have starred in the last 50 years in Greek Music (Marinella, Voskopoulos, Galani, Protopsalti, Mitsias, Remo, Theodoridou, Makedona, Zorbalas, Koumiotis, Linda, Kommatas, Bofiliou, Zouganelis Arvanitakis etc. and has as honorary conductors with whom he has performed a series of concerts all over Greece: Plessa, Spano, Hatjinasio, Savvopoulos, Korkoli, Reboutsika).
It is also the only philharmonic that has performed at the Herodeion, the renovated theater of Lycabettus, as well as the Pallas theater and the Thessaloniki Music Hall.
The concert is held in co-organization with the International Festival of Patras.
