After its announcement a few days ago, Frogwares has posted sa campaign Kickstarter to secure funding for his Lovecraftian horror adventure, Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. Along with more details on the game and a series of rewards for donors, the campaign page features two new videos from the team.
The first official trailer shows a young Holmes and Watson fleeing for their lives. Some kind of “misunderstanding” led the New Orleans Sheriffs Department to hunt down the duo. After a few missed shots, the budding detectives flee into the depths of the surrounding swamps. But something is amiss, not to mention Sherlock, who already seems to be losing his grip on reality.
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a detective horror adventure where Cthulhu meets Sherlock Holmes. The game is the continuation of the story of young Sherlock, Holmes and Watson undertaking their first big business together. A cult obsessed with eldritch gods is working behind the scenes to fulfill a world-changing prophecy and it’s up to the young detective duo to thwart their plans.
The team also released a long update video. Along with stunning footage of what happened in Ukraine during the invasion, the video explains why Frogwares opted for Kickstarer, how the team is currently handling the situation, and more regarding what The Awakened will be, plus some additional images of the game in progress.
Originally released in 2006, The Awakened is a complete remake and substantial rewrite, rebuilt and redesigned from the ground up to work in Unreal Engine 4.
