Journalist’s murder: Accused gets 40 years in prison – Maltese journalist| Murder

Valletta (Malta) ∙ Two suspects have been sentenced to 40 years in prison in the case of the bombing and killing of journalist Daphne Corona Galizia, who exposed major political and financial scandals in Malta, the smallest country in the European Union.

George DeGiorgio (59) and his brother Alfred (57) who placed the bomb under the seat of the car driven by Daphne were sentenced.

On October 16, 2017, Daphne (53) was leaving her house when the explosion happened. A government-connected businessman gave the quotation to plant the bomb. He will be tried.
