Journalist Armando Linares López was murdered this Tuesday followingnoon by armed men who entered his home. He was a partner in the media Monitor Michoacan.
According to information from quadratin, local paramedics confirmed that shortly before 7:00 p.m. they received the request for help from the communicator. They went to the house, located on Miguel Carrillo and 5 de Mayo streets, however, upon arrival, the journalist was found dead.
Shortly following the murder was known, the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office indicated on its social networks that the authorities were already on their way to Carabanchel, Zitácuaro.
“In accordance with the Approved Protocol for the Investigation of Crimes Committed Against Freedom of Expression, the respective actions are carried out to clarify the facts,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated in a statement.
Armando Linares would have denounced the threats once morest him and other collaborators, following the murder of Roberto Toledo, a reporter for that news agency, however, until now it has not been revealed if there are any advances in the investigations.
Roberto Toledo was deprived of his life on January 31, when he arrived at his workplace, located in the Moctezuma Oriente neighborhood, later, Armando Linares began a crusade to make the threats to that media outlet known, but it seems that there has been no paid off, because this Tuesday he was deprived of his life.
So far in 2022 8 journalists have been murdered.
