Josh Green and Jaden Hardy carry the Mavs to Utah

No Luka Doncic, no Kyrie Irving? No problem for the Mavs, who prevail on the field of Jazz thanks to their young people: Jaden Hardy and Josh Green.

For the small home score box, it’s this way.

We tend to talk so much regarding the skills of the new Dallas backcourt that we tend to forget that there are other guards who have their hands full of talent on the side of the American Airlines Center. Luka Doncic still injured, Kyrie Irving barely formalized and not yet available, so it was up to the lieutenants to do the job tonight in Utah. A mission far from obvious when you know the dependence of Dallas on the exploits of Doncic. The proof: of the seven games played without Luka Doncic this season, the Mavs had not won any!

It’s now done thanks to a great collective performance and especially the work of two young people with very long teeth. We start with Josh Green. One of Dallas’ crowd favorites continues his rise to prominence with 29 points at 10/17 to shoot and a differential of +39 ! Undoubtedly the big man in this match, although his mate Jaden Hardy was no less impressive with him too 29 points (his career high) including 14 in money time to go and validate a solid victory. Two youngsters who have their hands full of talent and a healthy dose of confidence to go with it. To chaperone them, we find “former” Dwight Powell, who does the job in the racket with a beautiful double-double and Dallas wins seriously in Utah, taking fifth place from the Suns in passing thanks to direct confrontations.

While waiting for the return of Luka Doncic and the first steps of Kyrie Irving in the Texan jersey, the youth of Dallas are having fun and proving that they will have to be counted on for the future. Bodes well for the Mavs’ spring ambitions.
