Josep Borell: Algeria is a trusted partner for the European Union

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, said Monday in Algiers that Algeria is a trusted partner and a key player in the fight once morest terrorism, announcing that Algeria and the EU have agreed to
relaunch the high-level dialogue on security.

“It is very important to say that we have agreed to relaunch our high-level security dialogue and that the first meetings will be held before the end of the current year,” Mr.
Borrell at the end of the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

“This proves that Algeria is a trusted partner and a key player in the fight once morest terrorism in our common neighborhood”, he added, noting that Algeria has “a long history in the fight once morest terrorism “.

“We want to develop a global and strategic vision” in the fight once morest terrorism, further specified Mr. Borrell, calling for “coordinate and mutually support security actions and join our efforts to strengthen stability in our common environment and neighborhood, particularly in the Sahel”.

“As you can see, there are many subjects to deepen our partnership and we have the will to do so”, he said, also asking Algeria to join the efforts undertaken to reach a solution. to the crisis in Ukraine.
