Joselu’s two goals propel Real Madrid into the UEFA Champions League final

In the second leg of the semi-final at home, Real beat Bayern Munich with a score of 2:1 (0:0) and won 4:3 on aggregate.

Real Madrid, fourteen-time champions of the Old Continent, will take part in the final game for the 18th time in history.

In the 13th minute of the game, Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior hit the goal post with the ball, and Rodrigo’s second chance was thwarted by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Continuing the first half, in one of the attacks, Harry Kane almost hit the Real goal, and closer to the break, Neuer saved the visitors.

In the second half, Neuer prevented Madrid from sending the ball into the goal in a couple more episodes. At the same time, Bayern took advantage of their chance; in the 68th minute, at the end of a counterattack, Alfonso Davis beat Andrei Lunin.

A little later, following a corner kick, the ball hit the Bavarians’ goal, but with the involvement of VAR, a violation was detected, so the result remained unchanged.

Two minutes before the end of normal time, following a shot from Vinicius, Neuer hit the ball in front of him, from where he sent it into the net to Joselu.

In the first seconds of injury time, following a pass from Antonio Rudiger from a few meters, Joselu sent the ball into the goal and Real took the lead both in the game and in the total.

Let us remind you that the first match between these teams ended in a 2:2 draw.

In the second semi-final, Borussia Dortmund won both games 1-0 and beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 on aggregate.

32 teams played in the main Champions League tournament. The top two teams from each subgroup advanced to the round of 16, while the third-placed team continued their season in the UEFA Europa League qualifying tournament.

The final will take place on 1 June 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London.

Manchester City won the Champions League last season, beating Italian club Inter 1-0 in Istanbul.
