Rome ∙ Small or big, Portuguese super coach Jose Mourinho must have a cup in the season! This time, Mourinho is with the Italian club AS Roma in the finals of Europa League football, the second tier club championship in Europe.

Mourinho will be aiming for a sixth European title when Roma take on Spanish club Sevilla on May 31. Mourinho won the UEFA Conference League, the third tier club championship, with Roma last year. The Europa League (2017–Manchester United), the Champions League (2010–Inter Milan, 2004–Porto), and the UEFA Cup (2003) are the other great achievements of the 60-year-old Mourinho.

Roma reached the final by defeating Bayer Leverkusen 1–0 in both legs. After winning the first leg 1-0 at home, Roma held the German club to a goalless draw at home on Thursday night. Sevilla reached the final following beating Juventus 3-2 in both legs. Erik Lamela scored the winning goal in the 95th minute of Sevilla’s 2-1 victory in the second quarter that went to extra time.

Marcos Acuna was sent off in the 115th minute but Sevilla held on. Sevilla are aiming for a seventh Europa League. They currently hold the record for most Europa League titles. English club West Ham will face Italian club Fiorentina in the UEFA Conference League final. The final will be held on June 7 in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
