Prima Pramac Racing rider Jorge Martin emerged as the winner of the 2024 German GP Sprint Race at the Sachsenring Circuit, Saturday (6/7), following beating Trackhouse rider Miguel Oliveira, who continues to surprise, and Francesco Bagnaia, who was perfect in Assen, Netherlands last week.

Martin, who started the 15-lap race from pole position, dropped to third early in the race, behind Bagnaia, who was leading, and Oliveira in second.

It didn’t take long for Martin to take over second place from Oliveira on the second lap before then passing Bagnaia on the third lap to take first place.

On the same lap, Bagnaia’s position dropped to third following Oliveira overtook him at the final corner.

Until the end of the race, Martin’s position as the fastest was unshakeable. Bagnaia, who was looking for a gap to overtake Oliveira, also did not find any results.

Martin emerged as the winner of the Sprint Race at the Sachsenring Circuit this year, repeating his achievement from last season.

In second place, Oliveira managed to maintain his pace by 0.635 seconds ahead of Bagnaia in third place.

“The one thing that is certain is always winning. Here we are strong and I had a chance. I think I was 100%, I struggled a little bit but even though I was able, you know to get the position I lost in the first lap,” said Martin following the Sprint Race, quoted from MotoGP, Saturday (6/7).

Bagnaia’s teammate Enea Bastianini was fourth, followed by Martin’s teammate Franco Morbidelli in fifth, and Marc Marquez in sixth following winning his duel by 0.003 seconds from Maverick Vinales in seventh.

With this result, Martin has once more widened his gap from Bagnaia who is in second place in the provisional rider standings with a difference of 15 points from the original 10 points. (Ant/Z-1)
