The elected head of the Buenos Aires Government, Jorge Macrimade the final adjustments to his Cabinet which will take office on December 10 in the City of Buenos Aires.
This implementation, confirmed by the agency Argentine Newsincludes the creation of a new Infrastructure portfolio and the reorganization of the areas of Justice and Securityas well as the elimination of the government portfolio.
The project presented to the local Legislature proposes a organizational restructuring starting December 10, 2023, with the aim of improving the management and development of public policies.
The names for Jorge Macri’s Cabinet
The names and key positions are: Nestor Grindetti I would assume as chief of staffwhile Gabriel Sánchez Zinny would be the deputy chief of staff.
Waldo Wolff would serve as security ministercon Diego Kravetz as his vice. Gabino Tapia would take charge of Justice ministery Roberto García Moritan would be the Minister of Economic Development.
César Torres, Fabián Tunes and Ezequiel Saborclose to Jorge Macri, are also expected to occupy important roles within the Buenos Aires cabinet, although their exact positions have yet to be defined.
The changes in the Buenos Aires Government
According to the text to be debated, this reorganization is a “central tool for achieving the stated objectives” and seeks to adapt the powers of the different Ministries and Secretariats to the current management needs.
The most notable changes include the division of the current Ministry of Justice and Security into two separate entitieswith the first focused on the control of the violence and crime prevention system, and the administrative management of the City Police.
The second will coordinate relations with the Judiciary and actions for the transfer of the National Justice to the Buenos Aires area.
Furthermore, the portfolio of Economic Development and Production will be modified, eliminating the production function, and the Ministry of Government, currently headed by Jorge Macri, will cease to exist.
Instead, the Ministry of Infrastructurein charge of supervising the planning and programming of road and underground works, as well as the management of transportation and traffic planning.
Unlike the armed one that the outgoing head of Government has, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, the radicals and other partners of Together for Change will not have relevant places. They lose management of Banco Ciudad and the Ministry of Economic Development.
