Jorge Glas is released from the Cotopaxi prison after the ‘habeas corpus’

Jorge Glas was released from the Cotopaxi prison, before noon this Sunday, April 10, 2022, the former vice president regained his freedom following executing the habeas corpus granted by the judge of the Multicompetent Judicial Unit of Manglaralto, in Santa Elena.

Several people gathered outside the Cotopaxi Deprivation of Liberty Center to wait for the former vice president.

After four years and seven months in prison, Jorge Glas was released from Latacunga prison.
