Godoy Cruz had been playing great, his presence in the League Cup is notable, that is why he came to this Thursday’s match with Colo Colo of Chile, in the phase that qualifies the groups of the Copa Libertadores, but he did not have an inspired night and ended up falling 1-0 at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium.

Striker Marcos Bolados, 13 minutes into the second half, gave the victory to the team led by Argentine Jorge Almirón, and which counts among its main figures the veteran Arturo Vidal.

With this result, “Tomba” is forced to win by a difference of two goals in the second leg to access the next stage, since if they do so by the same result of 1-0, that will lead to the will force penalties.

The match began with good rhythm and controversy, since in the first minutes Colo Colo managed to open the scoring through Cristian Zavala, however, the play was annulled due to offside.

With an even procedure and shared protagonism, the Chilean team showed a better image with ball possession and patience when developing the game to be sharp. Godoy Cruz, who had a hard time getting on his feet and getting into the game, was more aggressive and came close to scoring through Tomás Baladoni.

Hernán López Muñoz was in charge of managing the “Tomba” offensive and was also the key card for his team to reverse the weak start and dominate the actions. The first act brought the curtain down on actions shared between the two teams, which neither managed to take advantage of and they went to halftime without emotions.

In the second half, Godoy Cruz started in a better way by deploying his game on the wings and through a cross, with a header from Badaloni, which went over the crossbar, he warned an opponent who hit him the first chance he had.

Colo Colo took advantage of the first opportunity he had and from the exit of a side the goal came through the head of Bolados, who put the bow on a spectacular play by Óscar Opazo, who put in a “little hat” before centering. The Chilean team’s goal meant a lethal blow for Godoy Cruz, since Daniel Oldrá’s team was never able to react and might have ended the match with a larger result.
