Jordanian Foreign Minister Points to ‘Biggest Threat to Regional Security’

On his account on the “X” platform, Ayman Safadi wrote yesterday, Thursday: “The lies continue.. Israeli officials who blatantly enable war crimes against the Palestinian people, and try to justify the massacres committed in cold blood against innocent Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and violate all provisions of international law, are now trying in vain to divert the world’s attention away from their aggression on Gaza and the West Bank, by spreading misleading information about the reality of threats to regional security, and about Jordan.”

“But no one is fooled. The greatest threat to regional security is Israel’s occupation of Palestine, racist policies, illegal actions, and ongoing war against the Palestinians,” Safadi added, adding: “Extremists who celebrate the killing of children, the use of starvation as a weapon, the bombing of hospitals and schools, the attack on UN humanitarian missions, the desecration of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, and the denial of the Palestinian people’s right to life, have no credibility.”

He continued: “Many Security Council resolutions, International Court of Justice rulings, and testimonies from international organizations are more credible than the claims of an Israeli official who promotes collective punishment against the Palestinian people.”

“We support the move by Josep Borrell (EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy) to impose sanctions on these extremist officials. We urge the European Union and all members of the international community to act immediately and hold accountable those who promote death and hatred. Sanctions must be imposed. Arms sales to Israel must be stopped,” the Jordanian foreign minister added, continuing: “Israel cannot be allowed to continue violating international law, defying the will of the international community, committing massacres against Palestinians, and threatening regional security with impunity.”

It is noteworthy that the Israeli army forces announced last Monday evening the launch of a military operation in the West Bank that will last for several weeks, according to the Hebrew media.

Due to the Israeli military operation, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia yesterday, Wednesday, to follow up on the “Israeli aggression on the northern West Bank.”
