Jordan sends 40 trucks of food and medical aid to northern Gaza

Amman – Jordan announced on Monday that it had sent 40 trucks of food and medical aid to areas north of the Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of trucks sent by Amman to the Palestinian enclave since last December to 2,514.

This came according to a statement by the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (official), a copy of which was received by Anadolu Agency.

The statement said, “A new humanitarian aid convoy crossed to our people in northern Gaza today, Monday.”

He pointed out that this convoy “was organized by the armed forces (in the Kingdom) and the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, in cooperation with the World Food Program, and with the support of a number of institutions, organizations and associations.”

He explained that the convoy includes 40 trucks carrying food parcels, medical supplies, and kidney dialysis solutions, which will be “distributed to our people in Gaza through partner associations and organizations in the sector.”

The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein Al-Shabli, pointed out that the total number of land trucks that entered the Gaza Strip since December until today has risen to 2,514 trucks and 53 planes via Al-Arish Airport in northeastern Egypt, according to the same statement.

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions that violate international laws, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe shortage of food, water and medicine supplies, especially in the Gaza Strip and the northern Gaza Strip governorates, to the point of recording deaths due to hunger.

The passage of aid through the Rafah crossing in the southern Gaza Strip was halted following the Israeli army took control of the Palestinian side of it on May 7, while Israel closed the Kerem Shalom crossing to the movement of aid on the 5th of the same month.

The Israeli war on Gaza, with American support, since October 7, has left more than 126,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children.

Tel Aviv continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice orders to end the invasion of the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip.
