Jordan and Britain stress the necessity of implementing the ceasefire resolution in Gaza

Jordan – On Thursday, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his British counterpart, David Cameron, stressed the importance of the Security Council adopting a ceasefire resolution in the Gaza Strip and the necessity of implementing it and ending the “disaster.”

This came during a phone call that Al-Safadi received from Cameron, according to a statement from the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, a copy of which Anadolu received.

According to the statement, the two sides discussed “efforts to reach an immediate ceasefire and end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.”

They also discussed “developing bilateral relations and enhancing the historical friendship between the two countries.”

The two ministers stressed “the importance of the Security Council adopting Resolution No. 2728 calling for a ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan,” and stressed the necessity of implementing it.

According to the same source, Al-Safadi considered that “implementing the decision and stopping the aggression is a priority that must be achieved by all efforts of the international community.”

On Monday, the UN Security Council issued a resolution supported by 14 countries (out of 15), demanding an “immediate” ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan, respected by all parties, leading to a “permanent and sustainable” ceasefire, while the United States abstained from voting. .

In a parallel context, Al-Safadi and Cameron agreed to continue cooperation and coordination in efforts to bring sufficient, sustainable and immediate humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

In violation of international laws, Israel restricts aid access to Gaza, especially by land; This caused a scarcity of food, medicine and fuel supplies and a famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly in the Strip, which has been under siege for 17 years and is inhabited by regarding 2.3 million Palestinians in catastrophic conditions.
