Indonesian badminton men’s SINGLES Jonatan Christie feels proud to be able to erase doubts regarding the Indonesian badminton team, which is strengthened by young players, by successfully reaching the 2024 Thomas Cup final.

Jonathan’s optimism towards the Indonesian team can be seen from the fighting spirit of the 26 year old badminton player who scored 100% winning points in the Thomas Cup.

“Thank God, during the Thomas Cup yesterday I was able to contribute points for Indonesia. But more than that, I am even more proud to be in the midst of my team,” said Jonatan in a written statement, Tuesday (7/5).

“Because with our existing composition, perhaps from the beginning of this year or the end of last year, no one believes we can get this far,” he continued.

Jonathan hopes to take part in the next edition of the Thomas Cup together with the current composition of players to win the title.

“With the process we went through, with the effort and hard work we put in, until yesterday in the final I was quite proud of my team,” said Jonathan.

In the 2022 edition, Indonesia came out as runner up following losing to the Indian men’s badminton team. (Ant/Z-1)
