This Saturday’s day was marked by high mountains and another victory for Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo Visma) in the Dauphiné Critérium. The Dane is intractable and is very close to winning the race, while Daniel Felipe Martínez continues to be the best ‘beetle’ in the general classification.
This Saturday, the fans and the cyclists themselves witnessed a ‘class’ by Jonas Vingegaard on how to manage your strength, but, above all, defend a lead in such an important race.
The day began with a flight of four cyclists who went through the stage. Reuben Thompson, Anthon Charmig, Matteo Vercher and Tobias Bayer, were the ones who dared to make the leap and later Pierre Roger Latour, Valentin Madouas and Eduardo Sepulveda started.
For its part, the peloton dedicated itself to filming and subtracting the differences. At that point, two teams were given the task of pushing and setting the pace of the race: Jumbo Visma and Ineos Grenadiers. In the latter, those who appeared to help and lend a hand were the Colombians Egan Bernal and Daniel Felipe Martínez.
In the end, the work was positive and they hunted down the escapees. The favorites were settling in and Vingegaard, seeing that no one was attacking him, stood on the pedals, left alone, took over the stage and put clear scores in the general classification.
