JAKARTA, Waspada.co.id – President Jokowi gave motivation directly to the U-20 Indonesian National Team players at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Saturday (1/4) followingnoon WIB.
Jokowi said there were still many events that Garuda Nusantara – the nickname of the Indonesian National Team – might participate in besides the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
President Jokowi visited SUGBK accompanied by PSSI Ketum Erick Thohir, PSSI Deputy General Zainudin Amali, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. During the visit, Jokowi greeted the U-20 Indonesian national team players and chatted with the coach, Shin Tae-yong.
After greeting the players and chatting with Shin Tae-yong, Jokowi also expressed his hopes for the U-20 Indonesian National Team players. He hoped that Garuda Nusantara would not dissolve in its disappointment.
The reason is, according to Jokowi, the U-20 Indonesian National Team players must continue to train. This is because there are still many other international competitions such as the upcoming 2024 Olympics.
Jokowi hopes that the Garuda Muda retainers will not dissolve in their disappointment. He hopes that they will continue to practice for the upcoming international tournaments.
“You can play in the Sea Games later, you can play in the Asian Games, you can still play in the AFF, you can still play in the Olympics,” Jokowi said following giving motivation to the U-20 Indonesian National Team members, Saturday (1/4).
For this reason, the number one person in Indonesia ensures that the U-20 Indonesian National Team still has many opportunities that they can pursue. He also told Garuda Nusantara not to get discouraged.
“I told them earlier, don’t get discouraged,” he said.
Previously, the U-20 Indonesian National Team would actually appear at the 2023 U-20 World Cup as the host. Unfortunately, this failed to happen because FIFA revoked host status following the rejection of the U-20 Israel National Team.
This was a serious blow to the U-20 Indonesian National Team and Shin Tae-yong. The reason is, they have made various preparations including TC to Europe to appear crazy in the competition. (wol/okz/ari/d1)
