Johnson & Johnson, the household name that has somehow managed to make itself synonymous with first aid kits and baby lotion, claims that health is ‘everything.’ That’s right, everything! Who needs love and friendship when you have health, right? Their innovation in healthcare is apparently so grand that they fancy themselves the superheroes of our time, swooping in to defeat complex diseases like they’re some sort of medical Avengers.

But wait, there’s more! They’re not just playing the scientific equivalent of Monopoly here—they also deeply emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). For over 130 years! I mean, one blemish and they might as well have “Inclusion” tattooed on their forehead. They say DEI fuels their business—because nothing says “I care” like a boardroom full of PowerPoint presentations and well-rehearsed diversity statements.

This Is the Job for You if…

So, what’s the role all about? As the Associate Clinical Consultant, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to demonstrate the value of their Impella® product portfolio. You’ll be advising interventional cardiologists and surgeons! Basically, if you’ve ever looked at a doctor and thought, “I could do that but with more enthusiasm and fewer medical degrees,” this might be your shot. • Attend implants. Sounds a bit like being present at a wedding, but much less romantic!
  • Collaborate with sales counterparts. Imagine being the team’s good cop while they handle the sales fireball!

What You Need: Are You Qualified?

Now, let’s talk about who can actually apply for this glamorous gig. They’re looking for someone with:

  • Two-plus years of direct RN or tech patient support in an ICU… That’s right, you need to know what a thermometer looks like.
  • Availability for emergent patient care. Good luck scheduling yoga during your 50% travel requirement!
  • Conduct duties in accordance with medical device laws. Because who doesn’t love a good legal framework?

Preferred Qualifications: Let’s Get Fancy!

If you really want to catch their eye, here’s what might give you a leg up:

  • Hands-on experience with Impella. The more hands-on, the better, right?
  • Experience as an Abiomed per diem—like being a part-time superhero!
  • Strong interpersonal skills; you’ll need them when explaining why your device is better than a stent.
  • ECMO experience? Oh, you’re getting specific now!
