A week following the end of his court battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard, actor Johnny Depp announced that he will release an album with English rock singer Jeff Beck on July 15.
The record, titled “18,” includes 13 songs, most of which are works by old artists including the Beach Boys and Velvet Underground and artist and singer Marvin Gaye, according to a statement issued by Depp and Beck.
The album also includes two songs written by Johnny Depp, 59, “This is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamar” and “Saad Motherfuckin Parade.”
Depp and Beck became friends in 2016. Beck, 77, said when Johnny and I started playing together, it ignited our youthful spirit and creativity. He added, “We were joking regarding feeling like we’re 18 once more, so this also became the album’s title.
And this album isn’t Johnny Depp’s first music career; For more than a decade, the actor was a member of the Hollywood Vampires he formed with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. Depp, who is currently participating as a Alex Reed of honor on Jeff Beck’s tour in Europe, said: “It is a great honor for me to play and write music with Jeff, who is one of the adults.”
The jury in the court that heard Depp’s defamation lawsuit once morest his ex-wife issued its decision last week and ordered Amber Heard to pay more than ten million dollars in damages to the star.
The authority considered that the 36-year-old actress had denigrated Depp in an article she wrote in the “Washington Post” newspaper in 2018, in which she described herself as a public figure representing domestic violence, although she did not explicitly mention his name in the article.
For Heard, who had filed a counterclaim in the same Virginia trial, the verdict required the actor to pay her $2 million in damages. The six-week trial received great attention and extensive media coverage; Television stations reported their events live, and social networks transmitted videos of them.
