A Tale of Two Forwards: Broome and Flagg Earn Unanimous Selection

In a landscape where college basketball narratives often highlight contrasts, the 2025 Associated Press All-America team is no exception. On one side stands Johni Broome, the Auburn Tigers’ dominant fifth-year senior, who honed his skills at Morehead State before transferring to Auburn. On the other, Cooper Flagg, the Duke Blue Devils’ sensational freshman, arrived on campus with the weight of immense expectations and a five-star pedigree. Despite their differing paths, both forwards share a common distinction: unanimous selection to the AP All-America First Team.

Joining Broome and Flagg on the first team are Alabama’s Mark Sears, Purdue’s Braden Smith, and Walter Clayton Jr. of Florida, rounding out a diverse and formidable lineup of talent. Each player brings a unique skill set and leadership qualities to their respective teams, making them key figures in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
