John Parker-Jones: The Underrated Player Who Made a Remarkable Journey to the NHL

2023-09-29 00:28:59

John Parker-Jones was invited to the Montreal Canadiens camp in 2022. Almost no one knew him.

The 6-foot-7 athlete, aged 23, finally earned a position with the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL and then played for the Laval Rocket in the American League.

A year later, the guy who plays both defense and offense might see action in a National Hockey League preparatory game.

“There is no final decision that has been made, but we would like to reward him because his progress between last year and this year is major,” Renaud Lavoie told JiC on Thursday.

“If you give him one match… what is that going to do for the rest of his career? It would be a great story.”

During his segment, Renaud Lavoie also talks regarding Juraj Slafkovsky and Alexis Lafrenière.
