It seems Johan Derksen and Wilfred Genee are back in the headlines, but not for the reasons fans of Vandaag Inside might expect.The duo, known for their often controversial yet entertaining banter, is embroiled in a fresh dispute. This time, it revolves around a private email that Derksen sent, which Genee decided to share publicly during a live radio broadcast on Radio 538.
While the trio—Derksen, Genee, and René van der Gijp—are currently on holiday, preparations for the show’s return are well underway. Part of these preparations involves brainstorming potential new guests to join the table.Derksen, ever the enthusiast, had compiled a list of names he thought would make great additions to the program. However, he likely didn’t anticipate that this list would become public knowledge.
“We make all kinds of lists, Johan always sends in entire lists,” Genee revealed during the broadcast. “Here I have Johan’s list: including Martin Morero, Jutta Leerdam, Tina Nijkamp, Hans Spekman, Annemarie van Gaal, Sven Kockelmann, Jordi Versteegden, Alexander Pechtold, Estelle Cruijff, Lale Gül, and Dennis Jansen from Algemeen Dagblad,” he added. ”He really has quite a list.”
Interestingly, Derksen also vouched for Glennis Grace, suggesting she deserves another opportunity on the show. “He also says that he thinks Glennis grace deserves a chance with us,” Genee continued. “He thinks she has had quite a few blisters and deserves another chance.”
Derksen’s Outrage
Needless to say,Derksen wasn’t thrilled about his colleague’s actions. He described Genee’s decision to share the email’s contents as both “not chic” and “not ethical.” Speaking to the camera, Derksen didn’t hold back: “I was really upset about that.Look, I send an email to the editor, and it gets to Wilfred, and he reads that email on the radio. I find it really shocking.Shocking.”
Derksen elaborated on his frustration, emphasizing how violated he felt. “I find it crazy that when I send an email to someone, a third person is reading that email on the radio or TV. I was also a bit stunned.”
Despite his anger, Derksen found little sympathy from the editors who received the original email. ”do you know what the editor’s response was? Oh man, such a riot doesn’t matter, does it? We always have a riot sometimes,” Derksen recounted. “I think: well, you’re unreliable and you don’t understand. They have achieved one thing, as I will never send them an email again.”
