(CNN) –– The singer Joe Jonas and the actress Sophie Turner will separate.
Jonas filed for divorce Tuesday in Miami Dade County, Florida, according to public records which CNN got. The document states that the marriage is “irretrievably damaged” as a ground for dissolution.
CNN has reached out to representatives for Jonas and Turner for comment.
The couple has two girls who were born in 2020 and 2022. Jonas wants joint custody. He and Turner have a prenuptial agreement, according to the filing.
Jonas and Turner began dating in 2016 and became pledged in 2017. At that time, Jonas public a photo on her verified Instagram page showing Turner with her new engagement ring and a message that read: “She said yes.”
Turner and the Jonas Brothers singer celebrated two weddings.
