Joe Biden ‘shocked’ by shooting in Illinois, president wants to continue fight against gun violence

Joe Biden said he was “shocked” by the shooting near Chicago that left at least 6 dead and 24 injured on Monday during a National Day parade, promising in a statement to “not give up the fight once morest the epidemic of gun violence.

A man opened fire on the crowd that had gathered in the late morning to watch the July 4th parade in Highland Park, a wealthy town north of Chicago, before fleeing. A large police force is now trying to locate the suspect.
