Washington: US President Joe Biden has called on US citizens to leave Ukraine immediately, saying they would not send troops to Ukraine for any reason even to rescue Americans in the event of a Russian occupation.
We deal with the largest army in the world. Therefore, we have a very different situation. Joe Biden said things might go awry at any moment. But the situation is getting worse. The Pentagon reports that troops are being brought in from various parts of Russia to the Ukrainian border.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby says Russia has accelerated its deployment of troops across the Belarus-Ukraine border in the past 24 hours. He said that at present regarding 1.3 lakh troops were well-equipped and the influx of troops into the northern region had increased.
Meanwhile, Russia began a ten-day joint military exercise in Belarus, which shares a 1,000-kilometer border with Ukraine. Kirby noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order to keep one million troops on the northern border was an indication of a strong occupation of Ukraine.
