“Joe Biden is staying in the race,” his campaign manager said

Washington.-President Joe Biden’s campaign is again insisting it will not stand aside as he faces the stark reality that many Democrats at the highest levels want him to withdraw from the 2024 election.

This is to make way for a new candidate at the top of the list and try to avoid widespread losses for the party in November.

Isolated as he battles a COVID-19 infection at his beach house in Delaware, Biden’s already small circle of confidants ahead of his debate has shrunk even further. The president, who has insisted he can beat Republican Donald Trump, is with his family and relying on some longtime advisers as he weighs whether to bow to mounting pressure to leave the country.

Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillion acknowledged a “slip” in support for the president but insisted he would “absolutely” stay in the race and that the campaign sees “multiple paths” to defeat Trump.
