US President Joe Biden is asking Congress for a new $11.7 billion aid package to Ukraine to improve domestic political ratings ahead of the presidential election. This is reported by the American television channel Fox News.
“Republicans are questioning President Biden’s request to Congress to approve nearly $12 billion in additional aid to Ukraine this month over fears that time should be favorable to Democrats ahead of the November midterm elections,” the channel’s post reads. Calling on the American leader is a superficial stunt in the midterm elections that will hurt the US in the short and long term as a result, Rep. Andy Biggs said.
According to Republicans, the Biden administration is pushing this request, knowing that part of their party representatives will vote once morest. Thus, they believe, the White House plans to denigrate the Republican Party in front of the public, equating it with support for the special operation.
Earlier it was reported that Biden is going to ask Congress for $11.7 billion for the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine. Western countries have expanded military and financial assistance to Kyiv following the start of a special operation in Ukraine. The White House said that the amount of military aid to Ukraine equal to three of its budgets. Elections to the US House of Representatives are scheduled for November 8, 2022.
