Jochen Rückert Quintet with Mark Turner | FR | 10 03 2023 | 14:05

Born in Cologne in 1975, drummer Jochen Rückert has lived and worked in New York City since 1995. On May 3rd of the previous year, Rückert gave a guest performance with his top-class quintet in the Munich Unterfahrt: His partners that evening were the Americans Mark Turner on tenor saxophone and Doug Weiss on double bass as well as the German trombonist Nils Wogram and the Dutchman Joris Roelofs on bass clarinet .
Above all, compositions by Rückert were played, but the five-piece without a piano also interpreted pieces by the famous pianists John Lewis and Thelonious Monk. A highly exciting evening in Munich’s traditional club Unterfahrt!
