Job posting gives hope for another new game

A recently published job advertisement gives fans of the mafia games hope that a new game is in the works.

A new job advertisement on the social network for maintaining existing business contacts – or “LinkedIn” for short – gives fans of the Mafia video game series great hope. It has been official since last year that Mafia 4 Under development following Hangar 13 boss Roman Hladík revealed active development following months of speculation.

Mafia 4’s existence came with some developer departures. First, Haden Blackman left the developer as studio head. Shortly therefollowing COO (Chief Operating Officer) Matthew Urban. This, in turn, sparked new speculation regarding the development of the game, which is why this job posting is so interesting.

Mafia 4: Hangar 13 is looking for reinforcements for development

According to the Job description on LinkedIn Hangar 13 is looking for a “Tools Engineer”. This position works with content creators to give them the tools needed to create a great video game. Actually not a big deal if it weren’t for a detail at the end.

It mentions that they are working on creating and maintaining virtual tools to support the development of “an unannounced multi-platform game that is currently in the pipeline.” Working with the Unreal Engine 5.

What kind of video game will Mafia 4 be?

Hangar 13 is unlikely to have any game other than Mafia 4 in the oven. However, if it’s actually the game in question, it’s a bit odd that it’s still in pre-production half a year following it was announced. It might be that pre-production is nearing completion, concepts are complete and actual development is imminent.

Of course, all insiders who have reported on the subject so far might also be completely wrong. Maybe Mafia 4 is almost over and it’s already Mafia 5.

Mafia 4 is under development.
