Neowiz accidentally let slip a key piece of information about its next game. A job posting indicates that the Lies of P sequel will be developed on Unreal Engine 5.

Although he didn’t win many awards, Lies of P is undoubtedly one of the best games released in 2023. It succeeded where many others failed and created a perfect Soulslike that, according to some, has nothing to envy of FromSoftware’s creations. Fans will be happy to know that Neowiz plans to develop a sequel.

@IdleSloth84_ on X (FKA Twitter) discovered a job offer on the Neowiz website, which is looking for a “localization planner”, mentioning the “next P’s Lies project” and specifying that it will be developed with Unreal Engine 5. The first Lies of P was an Unreal game Engine 4, and it makes sense that its sequel would be updated to the next-gen platform.

However, it will be a while before development on a sequel begins full-time, as Neowiz has confirmed that Lies of P($50 on Amazon) contained DLC. The end of the game announces a new (potentially playable) character and leaves some unanswered questions that will need to be answered through post-launch content. Lies of P takes heavy inspiration from Bloodborne, and it will be interesting to see if its DLC will live up to the benchmark set by The Old Hunters
