The eternal master

With ‘Hello and Goodbye’, Sabina hangs up his leather gloves of poetry and guitar in a life of road and blanket, closing a circle that spans half a century since his first public appearances in the streets of the London Underground. All this while he was in self-exile during the dictatorship. An uncertain starting point that was eventually compensated for by his return to Spain in the 1980s, where he began to nurture a legacy that, over time, would become eternal.

Since then, he has stepped onto the most legendary stages not only nationally, but also internationally. Among them, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Luna Park and La Bombonera in Buenos Aires, the Olympia in Paris, the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, the National Auditorium and the Zócalo in Mexico City, the Madison Square Garden in New York, Wizink, or Las Ventas in Madrid, among others. Venues that, with this last dance, will once once more feel the farewell of songs that, despite being young for the eternity that awaits them, do not seem to have become simple lyrics by any singer-songwriter, but rather hymns of the country’s popular tradition. All of this, under that iconic silhouette of cigarette smoke and whiskey without soda, with that mythical bowler hat and mischievous roguery.

Because, as his record label SONY has announced, “In the heat of this honey and out of the simple courtesy of not leaving the party without saying goodbye, Joaquín Sabina has decided to go back on stage to say hello for the last time before lowering the curtain. A tour where we can say hello and goodbye“.
