It has been confirmed that sex offender Jo Doo-soon gave up moving to Seonbu-dong, Ansan-si.
According to the city of Ansan on the 24th, Cho Doo-soon received a deposit of 10 million won and a penalty of 1 million won from the landlord of a multi-family house in Seonbu-dong, where he was moving, this followingnoon. Cho Doo-soon’s wife met with the landlord at the real estate office in Seonbu-dong that day, broke her lease contract, and received 11 million won, including deposit and penalty.
This fact was confirmed by Ansan City through Cho Doo-soon’s probation officer and the residents of Seonbu-dong. As a result, it is known that Jo Doo-soon will stop moving to Seonbu-dong and stay at the house in Wa-dong where he currently lives for the time being.
Analysts say that Cho Doo-soon gave up moving because she was influenced by strong opposition from residents of Seonbu-dong and women’s groups in Ansan.
Jo Doo-soon signed a lease with a multi-family house in Seonbu-dong on the 17th as the lease contract with the multi-family house in Wa-dong, where he lives now, expires on the 28th. Jo Doo-soon’s wife cheated, saying, “Her husband is an office worker,” and signed a two-year monthly rent contract following paying a deposit of 10 million won at once.
The landlord, who belatedly found out that the new tenant to move in was Cho Doo-soon, visited Cho Doo-soon’s house and demanded that the contract be terminated, but Cho Doo-soon is known to have requested an additional penalty in addition to the 10 million won deposit he had paid because it was a unilateral breach.
When Cho Doo-soon’s move plan became known, the residents of Seonbu-dong strongly protested, and on the morning of the 24th, they held a press conference with women’s groups in Ansan and demanded that “Cho Doo-soon leave Ansan City.”
Cho Doo-soon withdrew her plan to move to Seonbu-dong, but the possibility of moving to another area remains. The owner of the current house in Wa-dong does not want to renew the contract following the expiration of the two-year contract, so Doo-soon Cho has to find a new place to live. If you continue to live in your current house, the landlord may attempt to evict you through a eviction lawsuit.
Jo Doo-soon was sentenced to 12 years in prison for kidnapping, raping, and seriously injuring an elementary school student in front of a church in Ansan in December 2008, and was released on December 12, 2020.
